Otaku Garage traveled to Japan and visited NISMO’s HQ to give us a POV walkaround of a Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo Z-Tune.

A couple weeks back we wrote a piece on quite a rare Nissan that popped up for sale in Hong Kong, the Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo Z-Tune. Thanks to the power of the internet the stand-up gents from Australia, Otaku Garage, have given us a real deal walkaround of just how awesome the Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo Z-Tune is.

Otaku Garage also let us in on some rare details about this particular Z-Tune including the existence of two in the same location. Check out the video below as well as their blog post here.

The fact that there were only 17 ever made (not including two prototypes) is enough information alone to get you excited about this particular model. Although most of the details on his visit are located on their official blog, we do get a couple of high-definition shots of the rare R34 in question.

Like most NISMO’s in this Omri factory location, everything they have on display is in factory mint condition. While some NISMO’s probably have been driven hard, you wouldn’t be able to tell by the gleaming and blemish-free paint job and body work on display. The aero kit inspired by GT500 JGTC cars is a dead giveaway that there is something special about this particular R34. If that hasn’t done it, the rear badges saying NISMO and Z-Tune will be.

All the factory glass and headlights are immaculate. Even the tires shod around each wheel are looking production line fresh. Keen eyes will notice how clean the brake rotors are given the fact that they aren’t exposed to the elements on a daily basis.

In the blog, Otaku Garage does mention that one of the used R34 NISMO Z-Tune’s would cost as much as a Nismo R35 (which is around $150,000.) That would be a bargain compared to the $500,000 one in Hong Kong. Perhaps location plays a role in how much these fetch?

The rest of the video blog is filled with gratuitous shots of what the production facilities in Nismo look like including a bevy of R33’s and R32’s. The only downside of the video would it being too short. Other than that, this is a must watch for any Nissan fans.
