This 2016 Ford F-150 MVP Edition Is A K.C. Royals Throwback Done Right
By Paulo Acoba
Ford pulled off an awesome throwback truck that pays homage to the 1985 Ford Ranger MVP edition.
The name Bret Saberhagen might not be known amongst your average baseball fans but to Kansas City Royals fans, he was one of the key players that brought the Royals to their first MLB World Championship back in 1985. To honor the pitcher from Chicago Height, Ford released a model year 1986 Ford Ranger MVP edition.
And now, in honor of that truck and in a throwback of epic proportions, Ford has released a special edition Ford F-150 MVP Edition. Check out a couple of official photos of this special edition Ford F-150 below and let us know if you’d buy one in the comments below.

The story goes that a Kansas City Royals fan suggested the idea to Ford’s marketing team shortly after the Royals won the world series late last year. And it looks like Ford took that suggestion to heart and ran with it by outfitting the 2016 Ford F-150 in the same manner as that 1986 Ford Ranger.
30 years ago all Ford did was add a couple of special decals and a set of alloy wheels. And it looks like that sort of treatment carries on over to the 2016 Ford F-150 MVP edition. Ford takes a Ford F-150 XLT with their chrome package in either Oxford White or Blue Flame. From their they add special MVP badging, polished rocker panels and a spray-in bed liner.

To make this truck even more exclusive, only 300 will be made. If you want to see one for yourself you’ll have to live close to the Kansas City area. If you really wanted one we suppose you can special order one to be shipped but we imagine Ford would like this niche special edition to stay around this World Championship town.
