Nissan GT-R Nismo: World Record Run Teased
By Paulo Acoba
Nissan has set some sort of world record with their Nissan GT-R NISMO.
Nissan has done something seriously awesome with the 2016 Nissan GT-R NISMO but we don’t know exactly what. According to Nissan Middle East, a World Record featuring their 2016 Nissan GT-R NISMO has been set and a teaser video was dropped. From the looks of things the record was set on an airport in the Middle East. In the foreground, a flotilla of 747’s sets the dramatic backdrop.
Keep in mind that with the available N-Attack package, this bargain supercar will lap the Nurburgring in just 7:08.679 putting other supercars to shame. Keen eyes will notice that this isn’t featuring Nissan’s facelifted 2017 Nissan GT-R they dropped just a few days ago but features the same design as last year. Check out the video for yourself below and let us know what you think the record might be in the comments below.

If you’re going to set any sort of World Record in a car, the 2016 Nissan GT-R NISMO is a good place to begin. For starters, underneath the hood is the same VR38DETT but this time power has been raised to 591 HP and 481 lb-ft. Top speed remains the same at a still neck-breaking 196 MPH.
As for what record they could’ve broken, we can only speculate. They couldn’t have taken the 0-300 KMH-0 and 0-200 MPH-0 record as both those are owned by the Koenigsegg one-1. The fastest production car belongs to the Hennessey Venom GT at 270 MPH and 1,200 HP. The GT-R NISMO would need to double its HP to take a shot at that American supercar.

Whatever the record is, it should make for one awesome video. We’ll keep you updated when the record is finally revealed.
