eSports Car of the Week Radical SR8 RX

Art of Gears brings you a different car, a different race, and introduces you to the world that is eSports racing. This week, we’ll take a look at the Radical SR8 RX

The Radical SR8 RX. Just the name alone sounds pretty cool. But I will be the first to admit; before writing this article, I really didn’t know much about this weeks car. And until I saw that it was going to be a featured League Spec vehicle this week in Forza 6, I probably would not have even noticed it.

But once I started looking up info on this track monster, I was hooked. This car is definitely worth a mention this week. The Radical SR8 RX is a track day favorite for many racers in the UK. The track-ready RX is currently being raced in the European Masters Circuit.

For those of you that didn’t know, (like me!), the Radical European Masters is considered one of the top international racing championships, and when you combine the SR8 RX’s lightweight design with its impressive power and handling at top speeds, it makes for some exciting racing action.

The 2.7 liter V-8 engine produces an incredible 430HP and has the “bragging rights” of setting the lap record at Nurburgring back in 2009. But this racecar is not just for racing. It is also a 100 percent street legal vehicle, thanks to the addition of working headlights, taillights and turn signals.

The Radical SR8 RX is one of the featured vehicles this week for the Forza Motorsport 6 League Hopper event, and that’s why it’s our eSports Car of the Week. I really haven’t raced this car in any league spec races yet, so I am excited to see how this SR8 RX drives!

Drivetrain: I will be using a combination of the Logitech G920 Full Race Wheel (manual with Paddleshift for this event) and the Xbox One Elite Controller (Manual Shift)

AOG Negatives: Not much seat time in this vehicle, but you need good throttle control in order to keep the tires from spinning!
