Watch The Jaguar E-PACE Do The World Record Barrel Roll Jump
Jaguar E-PACE recreates that unbelievable James Bond movie stunt at its global launch and drives off with a Guinness World Record.
When the F-PACE was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, Jaguar brought in stunt driver Terry Grant and made him do a 360-degree loop-the-loop with it. You’ll find that video somewhere below and trust me, it’s going to make you say “Wow”. Like, really loud. The Guinness World Record for the highest ever loop-the-loop in a production car thus ended up with the F-Pace name attached to it. So when the Jaguar E-PACE crossover’s launch was on the cards, Jag had to step things up to another level of craziness.
And here it is. Straight out of a James Bond movie – The Man with the Golden Gun, in this case – comes another insane stunt from Jaguar and Terry Grant. It’s the barrel roll jump. Boy, now everyone is listening intently.
The Jaguar E-Pace “launch” (literal and figurative) took place in The ExCel exhibition center, London, a venue large enough to facilitate the 160-meter runup which was required for the crossover to execute the jump. Or that’s what the months of CAD tests, analysis and all the trial runs recommended. Good to see that those test results were accurate. The video covering the behind-the-scenes work is right below.
Grant already holds 21 Guinness World Records for various acts of lunacy performed using vehicles and this 15.3 meter, 270-degree barrel roll goes on to become the world record for the longest barrel roll jump ever performed with a production car. Another feather on the cap… or helmet for this daredevil behind the wheel.
The car which took the leap had racing seat, safety harness and roll cage in place to keep Grant safe in the event of things not going as planned.

Speaking of the crossover, the Jaguar E-Pace is now the entry-level SUV in the carmaker’s range as it slots right below the F-Pace. (The latter can be seen doing that famous loop-the-loop stunt in the video right below.) The F-Pace’s little brother has the big guy’s good looks and the F-Type’s handsome face. All the bells and whistles are there in the features list too and some capable powerplants to cash the cheques signed by that handsomeness. We’ll be covering all of that in detail in another post.
Now here is the Jaguar F-PACE running around in a circle… a vertical one that is. No big deal.

For now, let’s not steal the thunder away from the Jaguar E-Pace and its supremely talented driver who pulled off this record-breaking stunt for our viewing pleasure. Enjoy the show and pick up your jaws from the floor once the video concludes.
