We knew that Aaron Kaufman will return to TV and you’ll see him next year in the upcoming Discovery TV show – Shifting Gears.

After that much-talked-about exit from Discovery’s Gas Monkey Garage which saw Aaron Kaufman parting ways with Richard Rawlings after 16 years of working together, the Bearded Wonder moved forward with his new shop – Arclight Fabrication. Fans desperately wanted to see him back on TV, helming his very own show. Aaron wasn’t giving much away until recently. But now, we have posts popping up on the web saying that Kaufman is making a comeback with an all-new TV show on Discovery. They are calling it, Shifting Gears.

While we did see Aaron Kaufman on YouTube’s The Lowlife Show in one of the channel’s early episodes, it was not the permanent stint that the fans were wishing for. With the upcoming Discovery Show, we will be treated to more of the builder/fabricator’s skills in making magnificent machines which are not just stunning to look at, but also sensational to drive.

To be filmed at the Arclight Fabrication facility in Dallas, Shifting Gears will be a drive through various expressions of car culture, as per the update on Guidelive. Kaufman’s establishment focuses on creating custom parts for Ford F-series trucks from the years 1957 to 1979 and also in end-to-end transformation jobs for pickups which fall in that bracket. So, fans of classic Fords will be having a lot of metal to drool over in the frames and yes, then there is the prospect of getting a tip or two from Aaron who is a master craftsman and expert when it comes to vintage Ford trucks.

How is Shifting Gears different than Fast N’ Loud and the rest of TV shows that revolve around building cars? Aaron Kaufman will be having a few tricks up his sleeve.

More from Cars on TV

In the Guidelive post, Kaufman speaks about his show’s USP and the reasons behind his return to TV,

"Initially, I had left television with the intention of staying gone from television. However … my phone kept ringing to do more television, so finally we found a set of circumstances that I think work better for my personality. The purchase of the vehicle bears little importance [to the show] at all. [With] every vehicle, we’re trying to use it as a catalyst to explore a different automotive subculture."

Gas Monkey Garage too posted their own update on the recent development, saying the new show will follow Aaron Kaufman as he shifts from his days at Gas Monkey Garage and Fast N’ Loud to his new life at Arclight Fabrication.

Kickass, congrats man! #gasmonkey #gasmonkeygarage

Rawlings seems to be happy with Kaufman’s new TV show plans and has congratulated his former co-host through his Facebook page.

Will we get a cameo from Richard Rawlings in one of the episodes? The chances are less. But you never know. The Arclight Fab shop which is set up not too far from the Gas Monkey Garage facility.

And, if Arnie can show up in a cameo role in a Sly movie, anything can happen.
