By Zain Ullah
As a car enthusiast and lover of supercars, I have wondered by buyers prefer Ferrucio’s Lamborghini’s and Enzo’s Ferrari’s to cars such as Mclaren or Maserati’s. Today we’ll be looking at the history of both car manufacturers.
The craze for Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s is popular for those that have disposable income, they want to own a luxury high powered and expensive supercar. Owning a supercar connotes with wealth and class.
Lamborghini’s history initially started out as a company to make tractors and was found by Mr Ferrucio Lamborghini in the year 1963, in Bolognese located in the country of Italy. After becoming affluent Ferrucio brought a Ferrari but was not happy with the vehicle after the car mechanics was prone to failing. This is when he started his own car business to design, create and sell his own rival supercars. The first vehicle produced was the 350 GTV in 1964. The 350 GTV was equipped with a V12 engine and was built as a two-seater coupe.
The vehicles were equipped with a famous raging bull logo and grew rapidly in the first 10 years. However, in the year 1973, the world’s stock markets came crashing down causing a major destabilization in the world economy. Sales dropped for the businessman car maker and the Lamborghini legal rights and ownership was purchased by Patrick Mimran for $3 million. Under his leadership, Paolo Stanzani and Marcello Gandini developed the Countach. The company is now one of those famous sportscar brand in the world purchased by celebrities to major world influential people.
Ferrari was founded by racing driver Mr Enzo Ferrari in the year 1947, 2 years after World War 2. It is located in Maranello, in the country of Italy. The first vehicle produced by Ferrari was the Ferrari 125 S in 1947. The vehicle was equipped with a 1.5 litre engine and was built as a racing car.
In the mid 1920s, Enzo became a racing car driver with the well-known brand Alfa Romeo. His driving skills and expertise won him a number of racing awards which included the 2nd Circuito di Modena.
Before the death of Enzo, he approved one final model of the Ferrari. The model was the Ferrari F40 which came in factory gloss red, a factory built rear wing spoiler and one of the most powerful engines the world had ever seen. The car price for purchase was $400,000 and was twin turbo charged and is definitely one of the best classic Ferrari ever made.
