Get your cash! Get your free cash!

VW is trying its darndest to save face and regain the trust of its customers through all sorts of apologies, firing those who might’ve been responsible and now they’re offering free cash to those who purchased Volkswagen TDI and were affected by the massive recall. According to The Truth About Cars on their exclusive insider tip from inside VW they dropped earlier today (Nov. 5, 2015) Volkswagen will announce what they’ve dubbed the “TDI Goodwill Program” and is basically offering owners money in the form of gift cards just to say, “We’re sorry and we hope you’ll let us back into your lives.”

According to TTAC, those affected will get two cards. One card is filled with $500 and you can spend that money however you like. The second card is valued at between $500-$750 and that money can only be used at Volkswagen dealerships. We imagine you can use it towards a downpayment on another VW, buy some cool VW swag or schedule yourself a maintenance service. That means you can hook yourself up with a couple of oil changes, tire rotations, alignments or a multi-point inspection.

No official word from VW on this “TDI Goodwill program” but we’ll most likely hear something sooner rather than later.

We’re not entirely sure if throwing money at the problem will do much of anything, but it’s a step in the right direction, however small. And who in their right mind is going to turn down a bit of money?

For $500 you can buy about 170 gallons of gas ( at today’s current prices), 1000 Jack in the Box tacos (or McDonald’s Apple Pies), 10 hours of deep tissue massage or two and a half sky dive jumps. The possibilities are endless.
