The Nurburgring is home to some of the fastest cars on planet earth. But it’s also home to some of the most unique.

Mention the Nurburgring to any gearhead and images of Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs and dedicated racecars dicing it up at 100 plus MPH come to mind. So when Autovisie earlier today (Nov. 7, 2015) posted up their news piece of how they came across a Ford Transit passing up much faster cars on the Nurburgring, needless to say, they got our attention. The piece was in German so shoutout to GoogleTranslate. You da real MVP. And thanks to a bit of googl’ing, we’ve come across a bit of social media from the owner himself.

From what we can gather from the rough translation, Auto journalist Werner Budding had a BMW M4 to himself for the weekend and decided to exploit its limits ’round the Green Hell. While he was lapping the Nordschleife, he came across this Ford Transit van that was doing quite well and happened to be passing lots of other cars including BMW’s and Porsche’s, putting many of them to shame.

Upon exiting the track, he soon learned that the owner, Dutchman Sijpkes Nathan, frequents the Nurburgring in his Ford Transit and has garnered himself quite the reputation for being what they’re calling “a kamikaze driver” divebombing other cars as he makes his way around the more than 200 corners.

Supposedly all Nathan has on the Transit is a simple tune and he frequently runs with furniture or boxes in the back with the Transit weight more than 4100 pounds at any one time.

Budding got a chance to ride along with Nathan and he was surprised to say the least. You’ll have to head over to the Telegraaf to see the video, but it’s definitely worth your time.

If you’d rather not, we’ve posted some videos from Sijpkes youtube we happened to come across.
