$3.1 Million you say? Can I pay in cash?

If you’re filthy rich and were ever considering buying yourself a McLaren P1 GTR, best get to a phone and call McLaren post haste. According to our motor enthusiast friends at the Telegraaf on their article that dropped earlier yesterday (July 6, 2015) production on the limited 45 unit run of the 2015 McLaren P1 GTR has already commenced and 42 units are already spoken for. McLaren was going to start production of these “only for the track” beasts when all 375 units of the McLaren P1 were spoken for but they’ve already started production as it stands. Although only 45 units are slated to be made McLaren has admitted that they could build 375 P1 GTR’s if they wanted to as the option is only available to current P1 owners, but 45 looks to be the cap.

So what makes this McLaren P1 GTR so special over a regular McLaren P1? McLaren has stripped more than 110 lbs from the road going version and added an extra 83 HP from the 3.8 V8 twin turbo. Final power numbers come in at 786 HP from the gas engine and 200 HP from the electric motor for a combined 986 HP to the rear wheels. In addition, the McLaren P1 GTR is 80 mm wider, sits 50 mm lower and in true race car fashion, there’s only one center locking nut on the wheels and a taller fixed rear wing in the rear.

In addition, McLaren won’t boot you out the door without a bit of proper instruction. McLaren P1 GTR owners will be able to first have an initial test session at Silverstone then head over to the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain. Color, paint scheme, and a custom seats are also taken cared for at McLaren’s technology center. Talk about first-rate customer service.
