Excellent road manners with an attention to detail. What’s not to love about the Mazda CX-3

Mazda just released pricing on it’s 2016 Mazda CX-3 subcompact crossover yesterday (July 17, 2015) and like a lot of it’s competitors, they’ve squeezed the starting MSRP just under $20,000. To call the subcompact crossover market hot right now would be an understatement, it’s downright on fire. With Honda’s HR-V, Chevrolet’s Trax, Nissan ‘s Juke and Jeep’s Renegade it’s an all out price war to see who could come in at the cheaper price but offer the most. At the end of the day, the consumers win.

CX-3 offers the same technologies and thrilling driving experience seen across the rest of Mazda’s award-winning lineup that we believe will be a great gateway to the Mazda brand.”"

With your $19,960, you get Mazda’s brand of driving fun that it’s artfully cultivated throughout the years. Powering all Mazda CX-3’s will be Mazda’s high compression 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine making 146 HP and 146 lbs-ft of torque. Paired to it’s six-speed automatic, it’s not exactly all that quick, yet again downright speed hasn’t always been Mazda’s only selling point. Base model’s get  Mazda’s exclusive Mazda Connect infotainment center paired to a seven inch touch screen. Pushbutton start, backup camera, power windows, power door locks and remote keyless entry all come standard as well.

Mid-level models get nicer faux leather seats “Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, heated door mirrors, a center armrest and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter. The available Touring Technology Package adds a one-touch power moonroof, SiriusXM and HD radio and a rear cargo cover.”

Amongst all the small SUV’s, Car and Driver has always ranked Mazda’s offerings well praising the little ‘ute for its road manners and in-car ergonomics. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the offerings, but if you had to choose a comfortable drive and an engaging chassis, stick with the Mazda.
