That’s 85 more HP than a regular 2015 Audi S8
Talk about a wolf in sheeps clothing. For 2016 according to a post by Car and Driver that hit the web earlier yesterday (Aug. 5, 2015) Audi has sharpened the fangs on the 2015 Audi S8 and threw on 85 more horsepower for a total of 605 available horses. When it comes to premium performance sedans, the list is short yet distinguished. Amongst the S8’s company includes the Jaguar XJR, the Mercedes-Benz S63/S65 AMG and the BMW 7-series.

The Mercedes-Benz S63 may have more power at 621 HP and 738 lb-ft of torque, but all that torque is routed through the rear wheels whereas Audi has its legendary Quattro up its sleeve. Even in standard form, the S8 trumps both BMW 760Li and Mercedes-Benz AMG S63 to 60 MPH, but enough just wasn’t enough for Audi.
Under the hood of the German super sedan is the same 4.0 TFSI V8 engine as in the standard S8, but it looks like Audi has turned up the wick on the boost control to extract more power from its twin-turbos. Aiding all that extra power is Audi’s sport adaptive air suspension along with Dynamic steering specially tuned for use in the Audi S8 plus.
And a super sedan isn’t complete without some proper aero. Out back will be a new rear spoiler as well as bits and pieces of well-placed carbon fiber. In addition, the tail lights will be stealthly blacked out as well as the gloss black grille. Shodding the tires will be a set of exclusive 21-inch alloys as well as a special “Floret Silver” matt paint. So the next time you see an S8 with blacked out tails on the highway, you’d best make way unless you want to see how well you match up. Because without the limiter, the S8 plus can hit 190 MPH no sweat.Achtung!
