Tesla Racing Channel’s Tesla P85D went down to Mexico for a bit of racing and the results were both humbling to other more powerful cars and downright hilarious.

There’s no better humbling experience for a real street racer out there when they can’t beat an untouched stock car, especiially if its all-electric. Tesla Racing Channel’s owner took his Tesla P85D down to “Mexico” earlier this week (Oct. 14, 2015) and pitted his 691 HP (and more importantly 687 lb-ft) super sedan against some of the fastest street racers that side of California. Check out the video of the matchups below. The subtitles themselves are worth the watch.

Most of these races start off from a roll ( that means the cars are already rolling by the time the drivers hit wide open throttle) so right from the get-go, the Tesla’s main weapon (all that instantaneous torque) is out the window.

His first serious race against a 700+ HP C7 Corvette was no surprise as the Vette’s superior power trounced the P85D. With every shift, the C7 pulled away. Against a Camaro with bolt-ons it was a different story with the Tesla pulling away like the Camaro was standing still.

Things get a little more interesting against a supercharged 4.3 liter Mustang and Mini Cooper taking both out of contention without even trying. When a couple of 600cc crotch rockets toe the line, it’s a similar story.

There are a couple of other races that went down so you’ll have to check out the video for those. But when it comes to the Tesla P85D out on the streets, it can definitely hold its own.
