Jay Leno’s Garage Checks Out James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10
By Paulo Acoba
It looks like Jay Leno didn’t get a chance to say his iconic, “Good Day Mr. Bond!”
The release of James Bond’s latest film Spectre is just around the corner and to hype up the film a bit, a very special car showed up at Jay Leno’s personal garage in Burbank, California. Earlier today ( Oct. 26, 2015) Jay Leno dropped an exclusive first look at the Aston Martin DB10, a bespoke car made just for the film. Not only does Jay get to walk around it and get inside information on this beast of a car, Jay actually gets to drive it. Check out the entire video below.
Before we actually got to the actual DB10, we did learn a little bit about the car. Two stunt cars will be used in high-speed drifting and jump scenes and a couple will be used as gadget cars. In total, ten DB10’s were made for the film. And the same designer, Marek Reichman, that got behind the Aston Martin one-77 is the same designer who graced his handiwork on this bespoke Bond vehicle. Some key feature that we see on the DB10 that we’ll see in future Aston Martin’s includes a falling waistline, a wider rear wheelbase ( to accentuate a rear wheel drive arch) and new wheel designs. The design speaks for itself and there are many small details that you wouldn’t catch at first, but thankfully Marek points all this out.
Powering this beast is a naturally aspirated 4.7 liter V8 paired to a six-speed transmission that puts out 420 HP, the same motor used in the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. And when Jay drives it, the exhaust note doesn’t disappoint.
