Koenigsegg Regera’s Autoskin Function Is The Ultimate Panty Dropper
By Paulo Acoba
Technically the autoskin feature is plenty practical, but Christian Von Koenigsegg just might be your ultimate wingman.
Any feature worth its weight coming from Koenigsegg will follow function more so than form and the Koenigsegg Regera’s ‘Autoskin’ function definitely ranks up there with that credo. Earlier yesterday ( Nov. 13, 2015) Koenigsegg released a video showcasing the Regera’s Autoskin function in all its glory and it’s a sight of practicality to behold that’s not only fully functional but will definitely win you brownie points with both the ladies and the gents. Take a look at that video below.

According to Koenigsegg per the videos description,
"“The new Koenigsegg Regera features a new robotized door system called ‘Autoskin’. The system uses inbuilt hydraulics to open every door on the vehicle, including the front luggage door and the rear engine door.”"
At the press of a button on your keyfob, all the doors and hoods will open (and close) at the same exact time. Or you can open each one individually. It’s super practical but makes for quite the parking lot sideshow.
Hydraulics has been used in cars long before Koenigsegg but oftentimes systems were way too heavy and impractical for performance applications, thus gas struts (or no struts at all) were employed to aid in opening and closing of body panels with no weight penalty. This system, on the other hand, only weighs eleven pounds, which is peanuts considering just how convenient opening and closing the engine hood, trunk and doors becomes.
And let’s face it. The type of person who’ll buy a Koenigsegg is either a true super car enthusiast or someone who’s filthy rich without an ounce of sporting car credentials. Imagine the later is walking out of the club with either his mates or one lovely lady towards the car park and they ask, “which car is yours?” A simple press of the Autoskin feature is all it takes to either get the lads going, “Ohhhhhh!” or the ladies rightfully impressed.
