It hasn’t been this best week for Nissan Skylines as this particular R34 did not meet U.S. import laws and was quickly sent to the wrecking yard.

Earlier last week we reported on an R33 Skyline in Florida being sent to the wreckers on instruction from authorities (we’ve linked that story below) and it looks like the story on this R34 is no different. According to Rivsu Imports on their latest video post earlier this Tuesday, someone sent in a video of this R34 Skyline meeting an unfortunate fate as it was crushed to smithereens. Check out that excruciatingly “painful to watch” video below. And again, if you’re a Skyline fan, avert your eyes.

According to the preliminary story, this particular Nissan Skyline was first owned and now crushed in Washington and was brought in from Canada. Canada’s import laws allow cars 15 years or older to be imported whereas it’s 10 years more in the United States. So since 2014, R34 Nissan Skylines are technically legal to buy in Canada.

We think someone had the not so smart idea to import Skylines from Canada into the United States. As with all imports with even the hint of legality issues, you roll the dice when you purchase something from someone that technically isn’t allowed. To the proper authorities, it’s all a matter of time until you’re caught.

This owner found out the hard way unfortunately as at the end of the day, an R34 was brought in and “registered” knowing full well that they technically can’t. According to Rivsu Imports, “Don’t blame to wrecking yard workers, they are just doing their job. Blame the sucker that tried to slip the car into the country when they weren’t supposed to.”

The lure to drive something different, exotic, and illegal will always be there and the reward of being the king of the car meet is stronger than the risk of having your car crushed for some. We’re pretty sure this won’t be the last of these types of videos to hit the web unfortunately.
