There’s a genius on eBay auctioning off his place in line to get a 2017 Acura NSX.

Fans of the new NSX have waited over a decade since the first announcement of a successor was made and more than four years since pre-orders were taken. According to an eBay ad that popped up earlier this weekend, it looks like someone who took advantage of being one of the first to get a 2017 Acura NSX is selling his place in line. Starting bid is set at $50,000 with a ‘Buy It Now’ price of $100,000. Mind you, this is just for a place in line. We already know that the first Acura NSX will go to Richard Hendricks of Hendricks Motorsports who infamously bid $1.2 million to win the rights to have the first NSX made. Check out a screenshot of the eBay ad below and decide for yourself if this is genius or not.

According to the seller,

"I have the official deposit and spot secured via the attached doc/image. It is for order slot #1 at Buerkle Acura located in Minneapolis where I originally purchased one of the last new 2003 NSX. I cannot confirm, but all indication is that this may very well be the very first paid secured spot for the new 2016/2017 Acura NSX in the country based on the date that I signed this deposit. I also have the email confirmation from the dealership confirming my #1 spot. Both the actual doc (minus the black out security marks) and the email from the dealership will be provided upon the winning bid or buy-now commitment."

Acura announced at the Detroit Auto Show that the 2017 Acura NSX would start accepting orders two days from now on February 25. Just yesterday, Acura turned on its configurator where those in the market for an NSX (or for those who just want to have a bit of window shopping fun) can spec out an NSX any way they want.

As of right now, it’s hard to gauge just how popular this new NSX will be to consumers. The fact that the first one sold for $1.2 million does bode well for the market. In addition, the rising price of used NSX’s does point to interest from enthusiasts.

No one has bid on this place in line yet. Even if you win this bid, you’ll still have to pay for the NSX as it is.

If you’re really itching for an NSX right now, here’s your chance. The way we see it, we’ve been waiting for close to ten years. What’s another few months to get one in your garage. MSRP for a 2017 Acura NSX starts at $156,000.
