This 70-Year-Old Has The Best Reaction To A Model S With Autopilot

Some people will be terrified by a Tesla Model S with Autopilot.

When Tesla first unleashed its Autopilot system on the Model S, there was a host of videos—some good, while others with horrifying—that saw owners push the new system to the edge. Some of the videos were highly entertaining to watch, while others were cringe worthy.

Tesla itself was alarmed at the ways users were utilizing the Autopilot system and decided to downgrade its functions to keep occupants from harming themselves, which was a smart move.

Autonomous technology is a huge step up from radar cruise control.  While the majority of drivers are divided about autonomous technology, this hilarious video proves that a Tesla Model S with an Autopilot system is both magnificent and creepy at the same time.

Putting one’s trust into a machine isn’t the easiest thing to do, as this 70-year-old grandma clearly can’t cope with Tesla’s self-driving abilities. Automotive technology sure has come a long way since cars first appeared on the scene, but self-driving cars is the latest trend that the majority of automakers are looking towards.

While other recent technology has made driving easier, Tesla is one of the first automakers to give a vehicle the ability to take the driver out of the equation.  That in itself, is a scary notion.  But, as this brave grandma shows us, it’s also something that’s terrifying to experience for the first time.

We’re sure this grandma would warm up to Tesla’s Autopilot system after a couple of more goes behind the wheel, but she’s genuinely frightened as she can be heard saying, “Oh Jesus, this is my first day out and I’m about to die,” at one point.
