Vice President Joe Biden asks Corvette’s Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter for a little help in choosing his next sports car.

When I first heard that Vice President Joe Biden was a Corvette owner and car enthusiast, I will admit, I was a bit surprised. I have watched the Vice President throughout his years in office, and it wasn’t until an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage last year that I became aware of his love for Corvette’s.

During the episode, Jay introduces us to the Vice Presidents beautiful 1967 Corvette Stingray. We also learned that because of the strict Secret Service Protocols that the Vice President has to follow, he is not even allowed to drive his prize possession while serving as VP.

In fact, he has only been allowed to drive his Stingray three times in the last seven years! Well, that explains why we probably didn’t know he was a car guy. I don’t know about you, but I would probably try to figure out a way to add Sunday drives into that VP contract before I had to sign!

It also looks like the Vice President is in the market for a next-gen Corvette as well. According to Road and Track, Biden, along with an entourage of Secret Service, made an appearance last week at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.

Biden was spotted checking out all of the major US car company’s displays but it looks like it was the new Corvette’s that really caught his eye. He even spent some time with Tadge Juechter, who is the chief engineer of Corvette to “talk shop “about the new models.

Road and Track were lucky enough to be live at the event, and they reported that Biden might just be interested in purchasing a new Corvette once he finishes up his term in office.

It puts a smile on my face picturing the Vice President doing an epic burnout in a brand new ZO6 right past the Secret Service the day he officially leaves office!
