Nissan is giving you more opportunities to join the dark side. Originally only available on the Maxima SR, the Midnight Edition is now an option on five additional models.

The Nissan vehicles giving you a new dark side option include the Sentra SR, Altima SR, Pathfinder, Rogue, and Murano. The automaker is debuting these models to the public this month at the Chicago Auto Show.

The Midnight Edition package is designed to spice up the exterior. That extra spice is done by blacking out certain exterior accents such as the wheels, mirror caps, spoilers, or roof racks. It gives the car a very sleek presence and has been very popular on the 2016 Maxima SR.

Why has Nissan made the Midnight Edition available in more models?

They’ve picked these five cars because they are the some of the brand’s best-selling vehicles. In fact, these six cars combined account for more that 75% of Nissan’s sales in America. Further, Senior vice president Christian Meunier said:

"The idea of expanding the availability of the Midnight Edition package was driven by customers who loved the blackout treatment on Maxima SR and asked for it to be available on other popular Nissan vehicles."

Also, 85% of the 2016 Maxima SR’s sold were Midnight Editions. Because of these promising signs, Nissan is confident that this sharp looking special edition will draw more buyers to their cars. Christian Meunier also said:

"The high-optimized MSRPs for the Midnight Editions will be hard for buyers to pass up."

What do you get with the Midnight Edition?

First off, for 2017 you get an option of four different colors for all six models – white, black, red, and gray. Additionally, on all six cars, you get black aluminum-alloy rims, black mirror covers, and Midnight Edition floor mats.

A black painted spoiler adorns the sedans and the Pathfinder. On the Rogue and the Murano, you get black roof rails. Lastly, the Pathfinder, Rogue, and Murano feature black splash guards.

The Midnight Edition’s sharp looks catch the eye of the crowd.

The reasonably priced package starts at just $490 for the Sentra, $990 for the Altima, and $1195 for the Maxima, Rogue, Murano, and Pathfinder. Those low prices are good incentives for buyers.

The Rogue Midnight Edition isn’t available until March 2017, but the other five Midnight Edition models are currently available at dealers.

Personally, I think the Midnight Edition is an excellent touch that’s sure to make your new car stand out, even straight from the dealer.
