Its owner tried to sell this Ferrari FXX Evoluzione for a ridiculously-astronomical sum of $12.5 million and failed. Now he has mellowed down to a reasonable $3.25 million. The reason to celebrate is that this one is road-legal and comes with the Evoluzione package.

Ferrari’s track-only hypercars are all of a sudden hitting the “used car” market. Recently we spotted two Ferrari FXX K units with a dealer in Dubai at prices of $4.2 million and $4.7 million respectively. Now we have the one which started it all – the Ferrari FXX – on sale. The asking price shown at AutoTrader is £2,599,995 which translates to around $3.25 million and that’s not a bad deal at all.

The seller was a bit too greedy and sort of overestimated the car’s value at first. Putting it up for sale with a gut-wrenching price tag of $12.5 million or a much fancier-looking £9,999,999 figure on AutoTrader was the first move made. So kind of him to have spared the prospective buyer of that guilt of having spent £10 million on a car!

Perhaps he anticipated every rich chap with a golden commode and a fleet of private jets to fall head over heels over this Ferrari FXX’s unique status as the only street-legal FXX in existence. And this isn’t an “ordinary” FXX. It’s the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione, which means it comes with the optional £1,000,000 Evoluzione package that bumps up the power and performance. The 6.3-liter V12 engine in this example produces 850 hp of power compared to the regular FXX’s 800 hp.  Power is driven to the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox.

Ferrari built 30 FXX track cars in total. 29 of them were sold to select Ferrari customers and the last one was gifted to someone by the name of Michael Schumacher when he retired from his job of driving Formula 1 cars in 2006.

Not to mention that getting hold of an FXX was an easy job ever, since only 30 of them were ever made. And the engineering and paper work involved in converting a track car to a road car is going to make one wish that the decision was never taken in the first place.

Anyway, the car which its seller claims to be the first very first Ferrari FXX in the production run didn’t find any takers with the $12 million tag. So the seller decided to take a flight of steps down to choose a more sensible price. The current price of $3.25 million range puts it in the same bracket as a standard Ferrari Enzo. Now it all sounds so reasonable and delectable for a deal, doesn’t it?

This Enzo-based Ferrari FXX Evoluzione was built in 2008 and registered in 2015. The odometer reads 1,300 miles and the current asking price is only a tad higher than what the car used to cost when sold brand-new. The car was part of the Italian carmaker’s Corse Clienti Program and was released to its owner in 2012 upon completion of the program.
