Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Is One 592 Hp Big Cat To Tame
The upcoming Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is the most powerful, agile and extreme performance Jag ever with 592 hp of power. Nuff said.
Wonder what happens when an already-wild feline goes even wilder? Look no further and check out the Jaguar XE SV Project 8. It’s one such extreme, brutal machine that it truly deserves the title of “the most powerful road-legal car in the Jaguar’s history”. The car you see over here is a supercar in a 4-door sedan guise.
Car geeks around the globe had welcomed it with much gaiety when Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) finally announced its plans to take the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 to the production line.
Besides a vented hood, front splitter, quad-exhaust tips, and a massive rear wing, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 has a much wider track too, to distinguish itself from the regular sedan.

When you hear that this car is capable of putting out as much as 592 horses, you know for sure that it isn’t a V6 underneath. No, definitely not. The XE SV Project 8 is powered by a monstrous supercharged 5.0-liter V8, in an absolutely new state of tune. Throw in an all-wheel-drive system and the sports sedan will tear up the track with a big smile plastered on the driver’s face.

The XE SV Project 8, as you know, is the second Collectors’ Edition vehicle from SVO, with its big brother, the F-Type Project 7 still bearing “first place” tag. 300 copies of the sports sedan will be hand-assembled at SVO’s Technical Center in Coventry . The car is targeted to hit the markets in 2018 and is hoped to make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 30.
The prototype of the car has been undergoing extensive testing at the Nürburgring and that explains the camouflage, which looks brilliant by the way. And that’s new when it comes to wrapping up test mules in camouflage. Usually they don’t look attractive. This one is an exception.

As you might expect, once introduced, the XE SV Project 8 would rival the likes of BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E63 S, but the reduced weight should give XE the upper hand it deserves.
Also from what we have seen over the years, we don’t think it would completely be in vain to expect something like an XE SVR in the years to come.
