The Rimac Concept One Crash

Okay, we saved the best for the last, just as the editors of The Grand Tour Season 2 teaser did. You see Richard Hammond in the driver’s seat of the Rimac Concept One saying “Watch this”, before flooring the pedal to launch the all-electric hypercar forward.

Richard Hammond’s crash while doing a hill climb had made it to the headlines of every car and entertainment portal around the globe when it happened. You can read all about that crash in our post here.

While it’s still unclear on whether the show will include the crash sequence once it goes live, given that the accident wasn’t on the same scale as Hammond’s drag racer mishap, there is a good chance of the footage being included.

The crash footage is in fact the biggest draw of the upcoming season as fans and followers of The Grand Tour haven’t come across a proper video of the incident online yet. However, the camera crew must have filmed the crash comprehensively and the footage will shed some more light on what went wrong at that corner.

Drivetribe had posted a long video with Hammond and Rimac CEO Mate Rimac discussing about the near-death experience that the host had while filming in Switzerland. While the video includes a comprehensive crash reconstruction along with plenty of details on the crash, the real footage is still going to be much more shocking, visceral and outright scary to watch.
