Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Gets Exorcised In Pennzoil Short Film
After that memorable farewell video tribute to the Dodge Viper, Pennzoil has delivered the sequel which exorcises the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
The Last Viper is one of Pennzoil’s best action-driven commercials. It has exceptional driving sequences with Rhys Millen behind the wheel and the direction needs to be applauded for all the excitement that the film packs. A simple plot which doesn’t distract the viewer from some really good precision driving. It ended with the mystery driver getting a text, asking how good he is at exorcising “Demons”. We got the MCU post credits-esque hint in that line. A video with the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was on the way. And now, it’s up online in all its devilish glory.
Named “Exorcising the Demon”, the video has the same 2:30-minute duration of The Last Viper. While the Viper video was shot in Miami, the Demon video takes the action to Pittsburgh – a location which is perfect for the moody theme that’s prevalent in it. Set at night, against the backdrop of the steel and iron cityscape, the short action film continues to build on the spectacle and thrills of its predecessor.
The action begins in a church with the mysterious driver in a hood, walking out as the chandelier shakes and candles flicker. Very much in horror movie territory. Once he steps into the Dodge Demon parked in a quiet street and floors the gas, things take the scarier turn. Glass windows of the shops nearby shatter and things start falling off the walls and shelves in true exorcism flick fashion. And yes, amidst all of that, the front section of the drag strip machine lifts off the tarmac to pop that epic Dodge Demon wheelie.

With the 840 hp Dodge Challenger SRT Demon taking the center stage, the film is packed with that signature engine note and of course, the drag strip monster going sideways. Loud and cinematic gearshifts, fire spitting through the exhausts with gunshot-like sounds and the accompanying environment straight out of a weekend scary movie outing, “Exorcising the Demon” sprinkles a light drizzle with thunder and lightning to magnify the overall effect.
Rhys Millen takes the wheel once again and demonstrates some amazing driving with the SRT Demon, including a 360-degree move captured in all its glory by a single shot. Filmed on closed roads with police and paramedics standing by, all the action showcased in the film is real, with minimal CGI used in the complete production.

“Das Good. How are you in the Ring?”
That’s how the film concludes and if the German-influence and the “Ring” reference is anything to go by, we’ll soon be treated to a Pennzoil follow-up commercial which will see the Dodge Demon being unleashed on the Nurburgring.
