Debuting at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet concept is so beautiful that you may want to make love to it.

Well, technically that’s cheating since I had the same feeling when the coupe version of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 made its debut at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. For the 2017 edition of the event, Daimler took the top off that gorgeous lady. And wow! Isn’t she such a treat to gaze at for hours at a stretch.

We are still talking about cars, right? Of course, we are. But one will be tempted to equate the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet with a perfectly-formed feminine figure. Look at those swooping lines, those sensational curves and how they create a captivating shape that will make men drop to their knees. It’s a concept car, just like its coupe sibling and we’ll never get to see this 20 feet of breathtaking exquisiteness at a Mercedes-Maybach dealer. Not at least for the next decade.

But what’s the harm in wishing that someone throws a mountain of money at the carmaker and asks them to make a couple of these? Yes, it’s a design study on how the luxury cars from Mercedes-Maybach in 2035 are going to be like. However, you can always speed up that clock with the right kind of motivation, can’t you Merc-Maybach?

24-inch alloys with rose gold paint and low-profile tires are the choice of footwear for the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet is powered by electric motors which join hands to conjure 750 hp of power. Since electric cars are gradually becoming more fashionable and better than their fossil fuel-guzzling counterparts, the battery-powered nature of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet makes its more tempting. Plus, the range of 200 miles on a single charge and a 60-mile range in five minutes of “supercharging” means the technology is catching up. It’s not bad in the performance department as well, with less than 4 seconds to clock 60 mph from standstill and a top speed of 155 mph.

More from Cars

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet concept is quiet and though nobody has taken a ride in it, looks comfortable too. It’s a luxury yacht concept with a Mercedes-Maybach badge. It’s in its character to be loaded with luxury and features. The crystal white nappa leather interior is the right amount of contrast with the dark “Nautical Blue Metallic” paint adorning the car’s long and curvaceous body. The wooden floor has aluminum inserts as embellishments. There is a cool blue illumination set up to light up the cabin. Basically, the interior is as opulent as an open-air luxury lounge. A custom-made fabric top is around to cover up when the sun gets too hot to enjoy or when the showers begin.

Another turn on about the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet? Its twin center-hinged hoods!

Touch controls, intelligent navigation and voice-activated concierge systems make the lady as smart as she looks. The interior is devoid of the clutter created by an army of buttons as every touch function is integrated into the smooth glass trim in the cabin. That’s a smooth move. Literally.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet is a lovely throwback to a time when coachbuilders used to create art with metal, wood and leather. A period in time, when luxury cars were hand-built with love and attention. This concept is an example how things would have been if those craftsmen had the advanced technology as well at their disposal. Thanks to this car, now we know.
