Take A First Look At The All-new 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman

Ram unveiled the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman at the National Truck Equipment Association’s (NTEA) in Indianapolis, Indiana last week.

The Tradesman model is specifically designed for vocational use, which is easily one of the largest traditional pickup consumer categories. The all-new Ram 1500 Tradesman truck that will work as hard as you – maybe even more – to cater to your business, construction and/or commercial needs. Right off the bat, this truck looks ready to take on any job site on the outside (appearance-wise) and it is just as ready to prove itself on the inside (performance-wise).

The new truck will be available in both a Quad Cab and a Crew Cab, with either a short 5 foot, 7-inch bed or a longer 6 foot, 4-inch bed. The base engine will be FCA’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with the 48V eTorque System. The larger 5.4-liter HEMI V8 is also an option, and will be offered ties and without eTorque. The pickup will be available in both a 4×2 and 4×4 model with all versions including an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Thanks to high-strength steel and innovative engineering, the all-new Ram 1500 has lowered its overall weight by 225 pounds. Properly equipped Tradesman trucks have a work truck capability towing rate of up to 12,750 pounds. All 2019 Ram 1500 models have the largest front brakes available in the segment at 14.9 inches.

In a press release, Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand – FCA said,

“Ram launched the original Tradesman model in 2011, and our work truck customers have enjoyed Ram’s benchmark durability ever since.

Ram has the highest owner loyalty of any half-ton truck and the Ram 1500 Tradesman model will continue to deliver confidence for hard-working people who rely on it every day.”

The automaker announced that the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman pricing will start at $31,695, which does not include the $1,645 destination charge. This is a little higher than the base price for a comparable 2018 model priced at $30,895.

Ram trucks include an unsurpassed five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. Truck customers from half-ton all the way to commercial levels have a wide range of needs and require their vehicles to have high levels of capability. Ram makes sure to deliver the full package with its lineup and cater to consumer demands.

Currently, the new truck is being shipped to dealerships, marking the official start to popular “pickup wars”. For those who are unfamiliar with that phrasing, it is the time when FCA, General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co. all roll out brand-new pickup trucks. The time is now and throughout the next year.

Detroit News reports that,

“Ford leads the pack with sales of the F-Series, though GM sells more pickups overall across its Chevrolet and GMC brands. GM and FCA are targeting Ford’s F-Series with the all-new Silverado due out later this year and the all-new Ram 1500.

“Ford, meanwhile, plans to roll out the 2019 Ranger midsize truck early next year while it pushes to build and sell more full-size SUVs. The F-Series just had its best February sales in 18 years.”

We cannot wait to see what each company brings to the foreground, especially in such a competitive market with the big 3 battling each other constantly for the winner’s title.
