All-electric or not?
Possibly, electric but not full-electric. We can’t bank on it according to the words from the chief technology officer at Lamborghini, after the release of the new “thinking box”. When the Terzo Millennio was released back in 2017, he stated that they are not ready to go full EV.
The Terzo itself has four electric motors, a motor independently dedicated to each wheel while using supercapacitors to disperse energy efficiently and effectively. This lets us know they won’t drift far from this and we can expect the hidden hybrid (whatever it is) to be similar in motor plan.
"The car is more of a “thinking box” than an actual production car. The car doesn’t confirm that the company will not be directly going with electric power. There’s a good chance it’s Lamborghini’s long-rumored hybrid hypercar. The company has, allegedly, already shown it to potential customers, and it was rumored to have looked like the Terzo Millennio concept. But a lot has changed since this report surfaced."
Said to be like the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio concept
If you didn’t know; The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio concept was built with the help of MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) It is part of a three-year plan in racing and development section.
Part of the Y-shape headlight family, the Terzo Millennio is the view of Lamborghini’s sustainable energy. The Terzo Millennio runs with high-capacity supercapacitors in lieu of batteries. A special feature of this beauty and will definitely be on the next one to be revealed is that has autonomous capabilities. But with a limitation to track racing only.
A new motor part of the plan
"Audi, the company that owns Lamborghini within VW Group, doesn’t want to spend the money needed to update the Aventador’s V12 engine to Europe’s new emission standards. Instead, the company would rather invest in hybrid V8 engines, eliminating the V12 engine from Lamborghini’s flagship model."
This is a bold and brave move. However, corners mustn’t be cut and going smaller with smarter tech can produce some pretty fast rides.
It is said the Millennio is set to be the longterm replacement of the well-known Aventador. So could this be the final product and prototype of their replacement? Or is it the replacement for another, or a new breed altogether?
Lamborghini’s ready to show off the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster and the Huracan Evo GT Celebration. With the duo coming out, what is Lamborghini secretly showing off in the mystery post?
