LaFerrari Aperta: Ferrari To Make One More Car For Charity
Ferrari is building an additional LaFerrari Aperta roadster and it’s going to be put up for auction with the proceeds to go to charity.
After denying customers who didn’t meet the expectations of the exotic car manufacturer, Ferrari has now announced that it will build one more LaFerrari Aperta. Car number 210 will be constructed with the sole aim of putting it up for auction and the proceeds from the same will go to charity. This is Ferrari’s way of celebrating its 70th Anniversary.
The last copy of the hypercar will unveiled at Maranello, Italy on September 9th during the celebrations. RM Sotheby’s will be taking care of the Ferrari – Leggenda E Passione auction, with the LaFerrari Aperta (sporting a unique livery) taking up Lot 154.
The RM Sotheby’s page on the car puts the value in between $3.5 million and $4.7 million. Since there were reports of dealers in Dubai offering the LaFerrari Aperta for around $7.3 million, it won’t be far-fetched to see the final unit raking in a final bid in that range.

Expectations are high for the final LaFerrari Aperta as the hypercar was always in the news for being very difficult to procure. Ferrari was extremely-demanding in terms of reviewing aspiring buyers and many of those chaps had to be turned away for different reasons.
This unique Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta will be a fresh piece. So fresh that it is yet to be built.
Even David Lee, who has a $50 million car collection with more than a dozen Ferrari supercars in his garage was not given the chance to buy one of the 209 roadsters. It remains to be seen on whether he’ll try to get hold of the car this time, as the auction won’t be following the “Ferrari way” of handpicking customers.

Quick spec check of the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta. The hybrid hypercar roadster has the same mechanicals as the coupe. The 950 hp (789 hp V12 and 161 hp electric motor) gasoline engine-motor combo is ample to score 0-62 mph in less than 3 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph.
