The upcoming Black Panther movie will see the debut of the redesigned 2018 Lexus LC 500 for its Superbowl commercial.

The official commercial, which actually debuted Thursday, pairs a superhero with the “super” car that is the new Lexus LC 500. The automaker will run a 30-second version of the ad during the third quarter of Super Bowl LII on February 4.

Cooper Ericksen, vice president of marketing for Lexus, told USA TODAY Sports:

"“The Super Bowl is the best opportunity for us to have product reach in a quick period. It works so well for us because the car is literally going on sale at the same time customers are going to see the ad on TV.”"

The clip features Chadwick Boseman (King T’Challa/Black Panther) as he clings on to the LS 500 F-Sport in an effort to show villains what royalty really means. The car, driven by his 16-year old sister Shuri, has us hanging on just the same. The stunts driving, however, was actually performed by Jeremy Fry of the movie “Baby Driver.”

The Black Panther – Lexus advertisement incorporates a number of special effects and was filmed using costumes and gear from the actual film. The exhilarating action is all set to the beats of  “Legend Has It” by Run the Jewels.

According to MotorTrend,

"“The commercial is just one part of a much larger collaboration between Lexus and the film. Last July, Lexus hosted a Black Panther-themed event at Comic-Con International and created an original graphic novel titled Black Panther: Soul of a Machine with the help of Marvel Custom Solutions.Ahead of SEMA in October, Lexus unveiled a limited edition 2018 LC Inspiration Series production car that will go on sale this spring with run of only 100 units planned. A custom concept car called the Black Panther Inspired LC coupe was also unveiled.”"
