The Ford F-150 is the best-selling truck in America and, as it turns out, the most loved vehicle among all branches of the U.S. military too.

Unless you have been living behind a rock, you should know that the Ford F-150 truck has been named the most popular vehicle in America time and time again. According to an analysis of former and active duty military personnel, it is also their preferred vehicle of choice. The survey was taken using the United Services Automobile Association’s car buying service.

Jimmy Spears, an auto analyst for USAA, said that the F-150 was the number one purchase choice for every branch in the United States military last year. This honor comes after more than four decades of quality commitment with the F-Series. Not only is the F-150 America’s best-selling truck, but it has earned the title of America’s best-selling vehicle (overall) for 36 years. That is quite impressive and says a lot about the brand and model itself.

According to Ford’s press release, Ford truck group marketing manager Todd Eckert said:

"“We are proud and humbled that those who protect and defend our country choose Ford F-Series. [The] F-150’s high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body is designed to serve customers who are used to performing in the harshest of environments and who rely on the capability, durability, and functionality delivered consistently by Built Ford Tough.”"

This latest survey and honor comes after the new 2018 Ford F-150 lineup earned the 2018 Truck of Texas and 2018 Motor Trend Truck of the Year recognitions. It was also named the 2018 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy for the fourth consecutive year.

Ford updated the F-150 truck for the 2018 model-year with a list of minor improvements both inside and out. These changes include increased horsepower for all engine types, better fuel economy, and greater towing capacity. The American automaker also added some more technology in the carbon, along with more grille and wheel options for its buyers. After all, American is the land of choices and Ford seems to really know how to keep us happy.

The study doesn’t reveal anything too surprising. American love trucks and when you break down the buying habits of a such a diverse group of people, overall national car-buying trends should be reflective in smaller subsets. With such popularity, the Ford F-150 should continue to be number one for the foreseeable future.

USAA will be sponsoring military day at the Washington, D.C. Auto Show, which will be held January 26 through February 4, 2018 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
