While exhaust notes of the BMW M2 have been captured on the Nurburgring, this is what the BMW M2 sounds like revving at a standstill.

Reporting from Germany definitely has its perks. And it looks like AutoBild earlier today (Oct. 13, 2015) was among the first news outlets to have their own sneak peak look at the 2016 BMW M2 which include some very generous exhaust note revs. Have a listen to the 2016 BMW M2 in all its twin-turbo inline-six goodness (close your eyes and you would’ve sworn its a classic late-90’s Supra.) In addition, Autobild published quite a nifty walkaround albeit it’s all in German so grab your closest Deutschland friend to help translate.

BMW inline 6’s have always sounded good but for the 2016 BMW M2, BMW has thrown on a very good free flowing exhaust with variable sounds that can be controlled via BMW’s Driving Experience Control Switch. We imagine they can make it as loud or as quiet as you want without breaking any decibel limits at the racetrack.

"One of the main contributors to the extraordinary dynamic experience on board the all-newBMW M2 is the optimized exhaust with special flap system. With its four tailpipes, the exhaust system immediately marks the BMW M2 out as a BMW M model and its minimal exhaustback-pressure ensures the engine exhales optimally. The electrically controlled flap delivers the distinctive BMW M engine exhaust note across the entire rev range. In addition, drivers can use the Driving Dynamic Control switch to select a driving mode and an exhaust note to go with it."
