I'm just your average, run-of-the-mill muscle car guy, with a very soft spot for '30 five-window Fords. Coming from a mechanical background in both the automotive and aviation industries, I've spent plenty of time around engines, and appreciate just about anything with a combustion process.

KHANBOGD-SOUTH GOBI DESERT, MONGOLIA - OCTOBER 12: Trucks move along the new 110k of road, built as part of Oyu Tolgoi's infrastructure investment, towards the Chinese border October 12, 2012 in the south Gobi desert, Khanbogd region, Mongolia. The Oyu Tolgoi (Mongolian for Turquoise Hill) copper and gold mine is a combined open pit and underground mining project. The site, discovered in 2001, is located approximately 550 km south of the Mongolian capital, Ulan-Batar in the South Gobi Desert. Turquoise Hill Resources (Formerly Ivanhoe Mines) and Rio Tinto signed a long-term comprehensive investment agreement with the Government of Mongolia in 2009 with the deal awarding Turquoise Hill Resources, whose majority shareholder is Rio Tinto, with a controlling 66 percent interest and The Mongolian Government with a 34 percent interest in the project. Rio Tinto provided a comprehensive financing package and assumed direct management of the project under an agreement with Ivanhoe Mines. Initial production from open pit mining is currently underway and commercial production is planned to start in first half of 2013. An 85million USD investment was earmarked for education and training projects, with Mongolians expected to constitute 90 percent of the work force when production begins in 2013. When Oyu Tolgoi starts fully operating Mongolia will be set to become one of the world's top copper and gold producers with production estimates of 450,000 tons of copper and 330,000 ounces of gold annually. Mongolia is currently the world's fastest growing economy with its GDP increasing by more than 17 percent last year and an estimated $1.3 trillion in untapped mineral resources. Oyu Tolgoi is Mongolia's largest foreign investment project and the country's biggest economic undertaking to date, which is projected to add one-third of future value to the country's GDP by 2020. FRANKFURT, GERMANY - JULY 19: The TDI engine of a VW Passat car pictured at an automotive service center on July 19, 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany. So far the German government has only required leading automakers caught using illegal software to manipulate diesel emissions to recall the cars and update the software. Critics claim the measure is insufficient and that refitting cars with clean diesel equipment is the only viable solution. Car makers have so far lobbied successfully against such a requirement, citing the high cost. (Photo by Thomas Lohnes/Getty Images)

IPSWICH, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 09: Cars are lifted off a flatbed truck ahead of a 'National Bangers' meet on November 09, 2013, in Ipswich, England. Banger racing began in the 1950s and has fast become a popular motorsport, in the UK and across Europe. Racing consists of a mixture of both contact and non contact classes in which drivers of old and scrap vehicles grind their battered vehicles around a dirt or tarmac oval race track in a ultra competitive high octane adrenaline fuelled event. The cars come in all shapes and sizes comprising of former production vehicles such as Nissans, Peugeots, Jaguars, Fords and Vauxhalls. The cars are modified for speed and safety with reinforced side panels, roll over bars and bumpers. The windscreens are removed and the cars are decorated for style with girlfriends names, sponsors logos and images adorning the bodywork adding a splash of colour and individuality to the mangled panels. The governing body ORCi (Oval Racing Council International ) was formed in 1991 and brings together the various groups involved in short oval motor racing. It currently covers over 30 venues, 700 race events and somewhere in the region of 10,000 competitors across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe.
